Daily Skincare Regimen: Take Care of Your Skin

I realize for many, skincare can be annoying and time consuming. However, skin is the largest organ on our body and should really be treated respectfully! I truly get that this may not come as a top priority. Being a mom, I get it now more than ever.. time is of the essence. But taking care of ourselves feels good, right?

About my journey

Growing up I was always outside, at the beach, swimming in my pool, trekking through the woods..you name it. I rarely wore sunscreen or took an interest in skincare- which I now regret big time. I have a decent amount of sun damage from my face to my feet, and decided about 5 years ago I wasn’t going to get anymore! Next to lathering on sunscreen when I head outdoors, I have finally taken an interest in products for my face. Over the years I mastered my daily skin regimen, and I am hoping this post will inspire you to do the same.

Note..

Before I jump into it, you should know my products are always changing. I love trying new brands and new ingredients. There are so many amazing products out there, find the ones that best suit you and match your budget. I try to stay as natural as possible, ingredients from the earth are best for me! The regimen itself is the most important part- pick the products to match the regimen and make skincare enjoyable for you.

Cleanse

Step 1: I clean my face with a gentle cleanser. This Tata Harper Regenerating Cleanser is great because it has apricot microspheres and BHA from white willow bark which act as exfoliants. I love useing this cleanser in the morning especially, because it smells like clementines. Giving me a zesty wake up!

Tone

Step 2: Hydrate and tone your face with something delicious. I’m obsessed with this dewy skin mist by Tatcha..it’s unreal. The greatness lies in the ingredients. The Okinawa Red Algae and hyaluronic acid deliver highly efficient hydration to the skin. Which basically acts as another moisturizing agent. I am also a big fan of rose water, the purer the ingredients the better. Oh, and when it comes to toner or any type of mist for your face, I literally use it all day. Spray, spray, spray.. your face will love you for it.

Eyes

Step 3: Put on some eye cream! I love anything with peptides for anti aging. Also, any products that help with puffiness or dark circles are wonderful for the eye area. Line Release Under Eye Repair Cream, by Kate Somerville is one of my favorites. I have dramatically noticed a difference with this particular cream. When applying your eye cream be gentle, this is one of the most delicate areas of your face.

Serum

Step 4: I tend to mix a couple drops of serum in with my moisturizer. But you can totally put it on your face on its own. This Bio-Mimicking Peptides Serum, by Kate Somerville is GOLD. It helps to smooth, tighten, and firm your face.. believe me it works. Any serums that contain hyaluronic acid and peptides will deliver real results!

Moisturize

Step 5: Moisture, moisture, moisturize! If you ask me, this is the most important part of the regimen. If I have zero time, I will still throw on some moisturizer. I have a few different moisturizers that I cycle through day to day. But this Dewy Skin Cream, by Tatcha is the realist. It provides plumping hydration and is packed with antioxidants, specifically japanese purple rice, YUM! Its just sooo good.

Sunscreen

Step 6: Put on your sunscreen! A tinted SPF like this one here, by Innovated Skincare is the perfect make-up base.

Before bed

Step 7: Wash off the day and get ready for bed. At night I repeat steps 1-3, then put this cutie all over my face and neck! This balm, by Farmacy is hydrating, anti aging, and all natural. I’m honestly in love with this and will probably use it for the rest of my life.

Wake up and do it all over again

I realize 6-7 steps may seem like a lot, but I promise it only takes me about 4 minutes to complete this entire regimen! I should also add that I am fortunate enough to live with a skin care expert. My sister (almost) in law has worked as an esthetician, for Kate Somerville, for about 15 years. Lucky me, I am equipped with a personal consultant! I hope this is helpful for you all.
